In My Name is Margaret, Margaret talks about the problems she face working at a young age, where her madam called her by the wrong name. She also talks about wanting to quit but her mother will not allow her too, which lead her to come up a plan to get fired.Write a 200-word argument that responds to this question: Did you agree with Margaret's choice to break the casserole dish and two green glass cups? I agree with her decision. She was being called by a name that wasn't close to her actual name, but couldn't do anything about that. I support her choice mostly because this took place in the period where black people where slaves and were not taken serious. Also she was a woman so people where not going to take her serious regardless. Sometimes action speak louder than words, so in order to get what you want you have to take a stand, and maybe break a few rules. Sometimes our actions can be used as rewards like in “My Name Is Margaret” her decision to break Mrs. Cullinans Virginia Bowls should not be justified, but yet that would be something I would do if i was in her shoes. Write a 200-word narrative that illustrates a response to this question: When have you made an important choice to either resist or not resist oppression, challenge the status quo, or refuse to obey an authority figure?I personally do not think this is a situation where I was force to either resist or not resist oppression challenge the status quo or refuse to obey an authority figure.I have also had to make a very important decision that left me to thinking twice.
My life changed for the better on August 17 2017, when I got enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard. Joining was a difficult decision for me and my family because they thought it was not safe, being so young and a female even though there are a lot of benefit to it. I don’t regret my decision even though people left my life because of it. The Guard is great, I work for and with the best people in the world. I attend college full time at no cost and gets a monthly paycheck. My decision was hard but it was worth it and I honestly would make the same decision over if I had too and hope people understand my decision.
